The problem
Everyone wants to do things. Coordinating them? Different story.
Bangkok isn't short on people, or places, or things to do. But somehow making one simple plan can still take three group chats, twelve “maybes” and someone asking for the location five minutes before. Existing apps help — just not with the whole thing.
Match-first apps
Starts with who you like
Not everything needs romantic tension. Dating and matching apps are great at introducing people, but the format usually starts with who you like. Comeet starts somewhere easier: what do you actually want to do?
Group chats
Needs the group already
LINE is great once everyone knows each other. Less useful when your friends are busy and you still really want to go to that pottery class. You can organise people you know — finding the people comes first.
Public events
Crowds, not connection
Finding something happening in Bangkok is easy. Going alone to an event with 150 strangers is a different energy. Sometimes you don't need a crowd — you need five people and something to talk about.
We don't think people need another app telling them they're lonely. They need an easier way to go from “that looks fun” to “I'm free” to “cool, let's go.”
Why now
We have enough apps. We need better reasons to leave them.
Our generation can order food, find a ride and book a trip in minutes. Making a new friend somehow still feels weirdly complicated. Comeet is built for that gap.
Social life changed
Meeting people doesn't happen automatically anymore
University is social — but that doesn't mean everyone magically finds their people. Classes change, friends get busy, people graduate, new students arrive. Sometimes your social circle just needs a little refresh.
The tools already exist
We're not reinventing messaging
Maps work. Chats work. Calendars work. Event pages work. What's missing is the thing that brings them together around one question: what do you want to do?
Bangkok makes sense
Big city. Small worlds.
Around 450,000 university students live and study across Bangkok's metro area. Different campuses, different circles, same city — and usually more people are interested in the same thing than you realise. They just haven't met yet.
How it works
Pick a thing. Find your people. Go.
Pretty simple: interest → match → plan → meet → experience.
Step 01
Interest
Badminton, film nights, running, cooking, markets, coffee, photography, pottery, cycling at an hour your friends consider unreasonable — whatever you're into. On Comeet, the activity comes before the profile.
Step 02
Match
See small groups doing things nearby this week. Not a room full of strangers, not 600 members in a community chat — usually just 4–8 people. Enough to feel social, small enough to learn everyone's name.
Step 03
Plan
Every activity has one place for when, where, who's coming, and what to bring. That's it — no scrolling back 94 messages looking for the address.
Step 04
Meet
Join the activity, use the chat if you need it, find the place, show up. Comeet isn't trying to maximise matches — the goal is someone actually showing up.
Step 05
Experience
Comeet remembers the things you've done and the people you've met, so one random cooking night can become another dinner, a café plan, a weekend trip, or just someone you now text outside the app.
The product
Your feed, but with somewhere to be.
No doomscrolling. No endless stream of content. Just a handful of things happening near you that you could actually join.
Feed
Nine good options beat nine hundred irrelevant ones. Less scrolling, more going.
Event detail
Activity, time, place, people — done. Nobody should need a spreadsheet to organise dinner. Exact address unlocks after joining.
Event chat
A group chat that knows when to leave. It's for directions and questions, then it's done — your LINE account can relax.
Profile & recap
Less followers, more memories. Receipts that you have, in fact, left the house.
Who it's for
The problem looks different for everyone.
We're starting with young adults and university students around 18–28 in Bangkok. They don't all have the same problem, but they do have one thing in common: they want to do something — and need people to do it with.
Maya, 21
The Local Explorer
“My friends are down for anything. Just never on the same day.”
Finds people who are already interested — and actually free.
Pete, 24
The Recent Grad
“My university group chat is still alive technically.”
Doesn't replace his whole social circle — just needs somewhere easy to start again.
Nam, 21
The Organiser
“I love making plans. I hate chasing people.”
The plan handles most of the chasing for him.
Lina, 19
The Quiet Joiner
“I want to meet people. I don't want to walk into a room of 100 strangers.”
Knows the activity, group size and plan before she arrives — less uncertainty, more “okay, I can do this.”
Ana, 22
The International Resident
“I came to Bangkok and somehow only met other exchange students.”
Meets people who actually live here, through food, art, cycling and cafés.
Validation
We have personas. We're not pretending they're facts.
These are our starting hypotheses. Through interviews, surveys and real product use, we want to learn what makes someone join, what makes them hesitate, and most importantly — what gets them to actually show up.
Market
Win a few campuses before trying to win Bangkok.
Comeet works better when people are close together. So instead of launching everywhere and hoping for the best, we start with dense university communities — a few campuses, lots happening nearby, people seeing friends use it. Then we grow from there.
Market sizing
- TAM— Total Addressable Market450,000
University students across the Bangkok metropolitan area.
- SAM— Serviceable Addressable Market126,000
Our initial serviceable group of urban, digitally active students.
- SOM— Serviceable Obtainable Market12,600 – 18,900
Our year-one beachhead across our first campus communities.
Our difference
Match-first apps ask who do you want to meet. Comeet asks what do you want to do. We don't match people first — we match people through what they want to do. The activity breaks the ice, the plan removes the friction, the group gives you someone to go with.
| Shared interest | Clear plan | |
|---|---|---|
| Match-first appsYou get an introduction, then you invent the reason to meet. | No | No |
| Event platformsThe interest is right, but often at a much larger scale. | Yes | No |
| Group chatsThe plan exists somewhere in the thread — once the group exists. | Yes | No |
| ComeetA small group, a time, a place, and someone who shows up. | Yes | Yes |
Business model
Free friendships. Paid foot traffic.
Meeting people should not require a premium subscription. Our revenue comes from businesses that benefit when Comeet groups actually go somewhere.
Now
Free, on purpose
Joining is free. Hosting is free. Messaging is free. Meeting people should not require a premium subscription.
Next
Local venue partnerships
Your café is half empty on a Wednesday afternoon while six students are trying to find somewhere to meet. Cafés, climbing gyms, cooking studios, workshops and cultural venues partner with Comeet to bring groups into quieter time slots — paying for real people through the door, not just impressions on a screen.
Later
Experiences & university programs
Special workshops, activities and ticketed plans with local partners, plus orientation activities, club discovery, international-student programs and community events with universities.
Team
Built by people who got tired of the group chat.
Comeet started with a very normal problem: everyone wanted to go out, nobody could agree on when. Eventually we realised the problem wasn't interest — it was follow-through. Our Bangkok-based team works across strategy, engineering, operations, product, marketing and creative.
